00:48.985 --> 00:53.909
[SPEAKER_01]: is what legacy really means and how I'm building when that lasts.

00:54.450 --> 01:06.721
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm going to preface the questions, ask them for myself and then I'll have you to ask them for yourself as we go through this particular episode, which is going to be another exciting one.

01:25.497 --> 01:26.961
[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking about legacy.

01:27.422 --> 01:34.298
[SPEAKER_01]: Something that goes well along the personal life, the career life, and on to.

01:35.003 --> 01:38.868
[SPEAKER_01]: transformation into your offspring.

01:39.408 --> 01:40.890
[SPEAKER_01]: So, and your relatives.

01:41.391 --> 01:48.700
[SPEAKER_01]: So, what it really means is shakes the future long after we're gone and why now it's a time to start building one that lasts.

01:49.260 --> 01:58.952
[SPEAKER_01]: Legacy isn't about money, it's about meaning, it's about how your leadership, your values, and your impact, continue to echo in the lives of others.

01:58.932 --> 02:07.810
[SPEAKER_01]: In this episode, I'll share what legacy means to me, the steps I'm taking to build mine with intention and how you can start building yours today.

02:07.870 --> 02:19.033
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's begin and before we go further, this will be a great time for me to just share a little bit of more about myself, for those of you who are not aware of me and are the piecass.

02:19.013 --> 02:26.588
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Paul Lawrence Van and I'm the founder of Welfareville in the Academy LLC of which Welfare Academy podcast is a part of.

02:27.129 --> 02:34.744
[SPEAKER_01]: I lead a leadership development consultancy, so I help people in the areas of professional speaking.

02:34.724 --> 02:49.339
[SPEAKER_01]: in terms of leadership development training, digital courses, book, and the best-selling offer international speaker, as well as the podcast host here, Alita Webinar, each week, every Thursday night at 7 p.m. Eastern.

02:49.939 --> 02:51.441
[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's something you can look at.

02:51.481 --> 02:58.088
[SPEAKER_01]: And I also have Facebook, a private Facebook group, also that will be proud and outreach to you.

02:58.568 --> 02:59.949
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's get started.

02:59.989 --> 03:03.533
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, as I

03:03.513 --> 03:08.183
[SPEAKER_01]: and then this will give you an opportunity to think about what it needs to you.

03:08.604 --> 03:16.080
[SPEAKER_01]: So, question number one is, what does the word legacy really mean beyond the traditional idea of wealth, art, and narratives?

03:16.100 --> 03:20.509
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what it means is that we are you and I,

03:20.962 --> 03:23.126
[SPEAKER_01]: pertaining to the families that we live in.

03:23.186 --> 03:28.016
[SPEAKER_01]: We are a legacy of the first numbers of the family that we live in.

03:28.056 --> 03:29.199
[SPEAKER_01]: My last name is Van.

03:29.239 --> 03:40.141
[SPEAKER_01]: So apparently there were some vans that were back in my history and it goes beyond the grandmother grandfather, great grandmother's, great father, and I'm beyond that.

03:40.622 --> 03:42.345
[SPEAKER_01]: So it wasn't money that brought

03:42.325 --> 03:44.088
[SPEAKER_01]: You here are brought me here.

03:44.148 --> 03:53.423
[SPEAKER_01]: It was really the legacy that someone was praying for us at one day that we would have the opportunity to really do some great things and make a difference in the world.

03:54.104 --> 04:02.157
[SPEAKER_01]: And the fact that I have a couple of members of my family that served in the military apparently in the background going all the way back.

04:02.609 --> 04:12.965
[SPEAKER_01]: Africa, but where it started, there was some worrisome where, because that's the only explanation for me, servant, and then my brother, servant, my uncle, my cousin.

04:13.546 --> 04:17.673
[SPEAKER_01]: So apparently, there was some legacy there on that note.

04:18.053 --> 04:21.799
[SPEAKER_01]: So when it comes to money, money can be a part of it, depending on if you

04:21.779 --> 04:34.388
[SPEAKER_01]: have a will or if you have a set up method whereby people can be able to obtain some money in our possessions are at trust as what is called.

04:34.909 --> 04:39.720
[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, there is that, but it doesn't necessarily mean

04:39.700 --> 04:51.200
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, for money, it could meet some possessions, it could meet some extra special pictures of paintings, jewelry, whatever it may be furniture, and for that's the part of the legacy.

04:51.540 --> 04:58.452
[SPEAKER_01]: So we want to really get away from everything just been about money because all families don't have a lot of money.

04:58.651 --> 05:07.184
[SPEAKER_01]: And if they do, then oftentimes they're not pass it on to the siblings and the siblings and are the grandchildren.

05:07.725 --> 05:13.553
[SPEAKER_01]: Some people don't need it to museums, some to hospitals and other community-related activities.

05:13.954 --> 05:16.518
[SPEAKER_01]: So legacy goes beyond that.

05:16.578 --> 05:19.582
[SPEAKER_01]: It's really, I look at legacy has been a vision.

05:20.283 --> 05:24.169
[SPEAKER_01]: What is a vision that you want to have after you're gone?

05:24.149 --> 05:26.697
[SPEAKER_01]: That's one make made a difference for example.

05:26.737 --> 05:35.847
[SPEAKER_01]: I serve the country for 22 years and I'm a entrepreneur for roughly 21 years and so as a result.

05:36.248 --> 05:37.872
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a legacy to believe it.

05:37.912 --> 05:40.297
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm leaving it through the books through the recordings.

05:40.377 --> 05:54.409
[SPEAKER_01]: I have on YouTube the podcast my online radio show and so there's a lot of legacy there through the books that I've purchased there's legacy everywhere because as the Egyptians found out when they left

05:54.389 --> 06:11.082
[SPEAKER_01]: For the leaders that they had at that time the kings and the princes and all they left them boats and different things such as that, and of course it's in a museum now is not going to go with you So that's really what legacy is all about as a continuation of what happened

06:11.062 --> 06:28.386
[SPEAKER_01]: And in essence, when the very first people in your family, they may, in a public place, their way to the United States, whether they came on their own as free people, or if they came as slaves, it's just all depends once all the their history is there.

06:28.987 --> 06:33.112
[SPEAKER_01]: So this primarily, I have this question here.

06:33.433 --> 06:40.242
[SPEAKER_01]: Number one is to redefine legacy as a contribution and not just as accumulation.

06:40.492 --> 06:55.513
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's making that difference in the communities, whether it's in the house of worship, whether it's in politics, working in a local, local leaders, whether it's a mayor or a governor, whoever it may be.

06:55.493 --> 07:04.013
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's really what legacy is all about and I'll read the question again because I want you to take some copious notes to so you can better understand things.

07:04.554 --> 07:13.215
[SPEAKER_01]: In the question number one is, what does the word legacy really mean beyond the traditional idea of wealth, art, and inheritance?

07:13.651 --> 07:21.506
[SPEAKER_01]: And question number two, when did you personally realize that Bill and I legacy was more important than simply achieving goals?

07:22.147 --> 07:23.770
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is a great question.

07:24.251 --> 07:29.601
[SPEAKER_01]: And I would say that for me, it all started when I,

07:30.239 --> 07:31.981
[SPEAKER_01]: came on active duty in the Air Force.

07:32.061 --> 07:36.326
[SPEAKER_01]: I had been commissioned a second lieutenant upon graduation from college.

07:36.366 --> 07:38.067
[SPEAKER_01]: On the same day, I graduated from college.

07:38.147 --> 07:42.632
[SPEAKER_01]: I was really commissioned a second lieutenant, so I became a military officer.

07:43.533 --> 07:53.224
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll never forget the fact that I worked with this insurance agent and he was talking about getting insurance policy because we know in the military different things happen.

07:53.264 --> 07:59.250
[SPEAKER_01]: The people could be war, it very well, could be an accident, training, whatever it may be.

07:59.230 --> 08:08.885
[SPEAKER_01]: And as a result, that's really when my vision came about because for me, when I was in the military, I was never married, nor had any children.

08:08.965 --> 08:15.636
[SPEAKER_01]: So I had mostly my parents and my siblings, and I wanted to be available for them in the likelihood of something.

08:15.616 --> 08:19.682
[SPEAKER_01]: Happened with my family and since I was one of the older of the 10 kids.

08:19.702 --> 08:29.497
[SPEAKER_01]: I was first son in a family at 10 with one sister older than I wanted to be available for them and our extended family, which ultimately that happened.

08:29.517 --> 08:33.523
[SPEAKER_01]: So what about you and when did you personally realize?

08:33.503 --> 08:38.049
[SPEAKER_01]: of the building and legacy was more important than simply achieving goals.

08:38.529 --> 08:48.462
[SPEAKER_01]: Goals, one can achieve and oftentimes go some really work sometimes there, motivational and nature and they're not necessarily something that people follow.

08:48.502 --> 09:00.557
[SPEAKER_01]: For example, if we look at new years resolutions in many ways that's a goal and after 21 days they said people who would

09:00.537 --> 09:03.863
[SPEAKER_01]: So they'd go to the gym, the gym is packed, you can't even get in.

09:04.324 --> 09:10.835
[SPEAKER_01]: And then six today's later, nine today's ladies, the gym is empty, there's an echo.

09:12.197 --> 09:19.390
[SPEAKER_01]: So as a result of that, what we find is that really, it's really all about that legacy.

09:19.555 --> 09:27.665
[SPEAKER_01]: So in essence, this question number two, when did you personal realize that building a legacy was more important than simply achieving goals?

09:28.145 --> 09:42.102
[SPEAKER_01]: What just demonstrates this devotional turning point that creates connections, and I'm trying to make this connection with you, of course, by sharing what I experience and you can look back at, well, what did you experience?

09:42.122 --> 09:45.867
[SPEAKER_01]: Or if you're going through that particular cycle in your life right now.

09:45.847 --> 09:51.775
[SPEAKER_01]: So question number three, what values have shaped the legacy you're intentionally building today?

09:52.455 --> 09:57.221
[SPEAKER_01]: So this primarily anchors legacy in character, purpose, and leadership.

09:57.602 --> 10:02.788
[SPEAKER_01]: So we look at character, a lot of that as a result of how we were raised.

10:03.169 --> 10:07.575
[SPEAKER_01]: Both of my parents, they had belonged to a house of worship.

10:07.595 --> 10:09.277
[SPEAKER_01]: They had family members before them.

10:09.317 --> 10:12.681
[SPEAKER_01]: Then they had family members that were entrepreneurs.

10:12.661 --> 10:18.289
[SPEAKER_01]: And I became a part of that legacy, and I'm going to be going now, so that legacy is still taking place.

10:18.950 --> 10:31.648
[SPEAKER_01]: And then when you look at purpose, I've really found my purpose, and that has been a leader of servant, meaning that I not only have served in the military, but also volunteered in the community working for the former governor of Maryland.

10:31.628 --> 10:51.021
[SPEAKER_01]: on issues such as immigration and addition to getting financial literacy in the schools, the high schools within the state of Maryland, and now today is a requirement for all students to complete the financial literacy before they graduate because of what happened in 2008 and

10:51.001 --> 11:05.323
[SPEAKER_01]: I won the economy, global economy crashed, and so it's very important that we continue to build relationships and provide outreach and make an a difference for the youth, the next generation that's coming up.

11:05.804 --> 11:11.372
[SPEAKER_01]: Just like it was done for me proud of me coming through with my career.

11:11.352 --> 11:25.395
[SPEAKER_01]: And so when it gets down to it, what values have shaped it, well, the values for me consists of just one and a half good character, been honest, been

11:25.831 --> 11:36.709
[SPEAKER_01]: self-aware because once I become more into who I am, the more I can help other people through my self-leadership and then ultimately leading other people.

11:37.570 --> 11:46.084
[SPEAKER_01]: An example could there will be the fact that I was elected to a two-time parent teacher association president for my children's school.

11:46.064 --> 11:51.289
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's extending my, I had to have great self leadership in order to do that.

11:51.690 --> 11:59.758
[SPEAKER_01]: And over the course of two years, we raised $25,000 each year, so $50,000 for two years as the PTA president.

12:00.059 --> 12:06.045
[SPEAKER_01]: And it really was the first time it was a new school the first time they'd ever had a parent teaching association there.

12:06.125 --> 12:11.110
[SPEAKER_01]: And we made a difference in the lives of the students and then education of community.

12:11.090 --> 12:18.283
[SPEAKER_01]: And this one happened to be a military and civilian community of which I was working in that leadership capacity.

12:18.984 --> 12:30.364
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, when I look at what I want you to look at is what shape you are legacy and what you are building today.

12:31.002 --> 12:36.090
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's very important that we look at it.

12:36.110 --> 12:39.535
[SPEAKER_01]: We also want to look at the role that leadership plays in your life.

12:40.076 --> 12:43.040
[SPEAKER_01]: And people and some people talk to say, well, I'm not a leader.

12:43.060 --> 12:44.042
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have the title.

12:44.542 --> 12:49.289
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the whole just and the foundation of it is that you don't have to have a title.

12:50.071 --> 12:51.393
[SPEAKER_01]: And you can still be a leader.

12:52.254 --> 12:58.343
[SPEAKER_01]: And in other words, when we look at working for a company, I'm using example, I haven't worked for.

12:58.323 --> 13:01.687
[SPEAKER_01]: Mobile chemical company and Beaumont in Houston, Texas.

13:01.707 --> 13:03.770
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't have a title other than financial elements.

13:03.790 --> 13:05.772
[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, I won't leading other people.

13:06.393 --> 13:08.055
[SPEAKER_01]: I was being led by the plant manager.

13:08.075 --> 13:12.140
[SPEAKER_01]: I was being led by the head of the Comptroller shop.

13:12.861 --> 13:19.690
[SPEAKER_01]: And even though I didn't have the title, I still had a leadership role in that I had to come up with the monthly income report.

13:19.670 --> 13:25.737
[SPEAKER_01]: And you were audited, I had to come up with the amount of products product that we have.

13:25.917 --> 13:31.584
[SPEAKER_01]: I had to look at all the acquisition of new plants that were acquired by Mobile during the two years.

13:31.985 --> 13:36.890
[SPEAKER_01]: I spent that I have there, but I was still in a leadership position because people looked at me for the answers.

13:37.351 --> 13:43.138
[SPEAKER_01]: And then my supervisor above me, and he also had to have to be accountable for what he did.

13:43.218 --> 13:47.483
[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, the plant manager, the overall vision for the plant,

13:47.463 --> 13:59.230
[SPEAKER_01]: And generate an average in about 300,000 per year at the facility in addition to working with the regional office that was based out of Houston, Texas.

13:59.851 --> 14:07.007
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a part of what values that helped shape the legacy that I'm intentionally building today.

14:06.987 --> 14:11.813
[SPEAKER_01]: And that is today that I'm leaving a legacy through the books that I've written.

14:12.293 --> 14:16.478
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm writing book four now and I have four coparphid books.

14:16.538 --> 14:21.224
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm at eight and my goal was ten, but I had to go all of ten with four ten solo books.

14:21.825 --> 14:29.434
[SPEAKER_01]: And then not only that, but through the podcast itself with over 300 episodes and there will be more.

14:29.414 --> 14:36.706
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I have over 800 episodes of my online talk radio show, which I don't don't need today.

14:36.726 --> 14:40.652
[SPEAKER_01]: It was called the Wolf's Speaker Talk Radio Show.

14:41.573 --> 14:46.461
[SPEAKER_01]: And as a result, I made that transition into the podcast,

14:46.441 --> 15:03.323
[SPEAKER_01]: in the year 2020 when COVID hit because I wanted to need it and wanted a platform that I could promote and market my speaking abilities, my training that I provided, in addition to the digital courses and books.

15:03.884 --> 15:11.213
[SPEAKER_01]: And so my question again to you is what values have shaped the legacy you're intentionally building today.

15:11.394 --> 15:12.415
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're building one.

15:12.715 --> 15:17.400
[SPEAKER_01]: Whether you're aware of it, not whether you're entrepreneur, not you're building a legacy.

15:17.741 --> 15:20.243
[SPEAKER_01]: And so let's ensure that our legacy is strong.

15:20.664 --> 15:22.246
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's go to the question four.

15:22.306 --> 15:31.156
[SPEAKER_01]: And question four is how do you, how does your experience from military leadership to entrepreneurship and form the legacy you want to leave?

15:31.656 --> 15:36.782
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it really goes down to just a few words, servant leader.

15:36.762 --> 16:01.470
[SPEAKER_01]: and that's what I was coming up through college going through the efforts reserve of subtraining program which meant I went through a two year military program and that resulted in me being becoming in commission a officer in military and then at our towers and take all of those experiences over 22 years and then when I retired,

16:01.855 --> 16:08.905
[SPEAKER_01]: and I've been retired now for 23 years, but I've been leading my company for 21 years, and I was a contract of for two years.

16:09.426 --> 16:20.902
[SPEAKER_01]: So when I add up all of those experiences from the military leadership to entrepreneur, and they, like I say, I want to live is that I want other people to do the same or more.

16:21.243 --> 16:25.028
[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, you leave the planet better than when you arrive.

16:25.008 --> 16:39.069
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have any control of the external factors of things that are happening by leadership and different countries around the world and in addition to the U.S., but you do have control of your life, your family, and your community.

16:40.190 --> 16:48.062
[SPEAKER_01]: They input that you provide for that, so there is an avenue in which one can

16:48.582 --> 17:12.497
[SPEAKER_01]: leave that legacy and for me, that's what has all been and my journey is one of a universal leadership lesson and the leadership lesson is make the world a better place instead of contributing to it being worse and that's a part of my legacy based on everything that I've done thus far in my life.

17:13.270 --> 17:18.096
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, question number, I'll go back over question four so that you can answer for yourself.

17:18.477 --> 17:24.004
[SPEAKER_01]: How do you experience this from military leadership to entrepreneurship and form the legacy you want to lead?

17:24.365 --> 17:34.198
[SPEAKER_01]: And the legacy I'll lead for in question four is that I want more people to become influential leaders because once you're leading these strengthens communities.

17:34.178 --> 17:37.402
[SPEAKER_01]: and it empowers people to make a positive difference.

17:37.862 --> 17:45.891
[SPEAKER_01]: Now question five, what systems are habits are you putting in place now that ensure your legacy continues even when you are no longer here?

17:46.352 --> 17:56.423
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, those things do in fact consist of the books that I have, the podcasts that I've hosted solo and with guest experts.

17:56.403 --> 18:19.118
[SPEAKER_01]: In addition to the digital courses that I'm leaving behind are that I will be leaving behind and then of course my presence in the local community and the state community as well as national and international because having served in the military, my reach was a lot further than the average person, just like many military people happen to be.

18:19.859 --> 18:25.347
[SPEAKER_01]: So what I put in place is to be

18:25.327 --> 18:36.782
[SPEAKER_01]: and inheritance, if you will, the different expertise that I share through the books, through the podcast, through the digital courses, and much, much more.

18:37.442 --> 18:39.305
[SPEAKER_01]: So that takes care of question five.

18:39.365 --> 18:52.802
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, I want to reiterate what systems are having, so you put in place now, that means you, that are listening, that ensure your legacy content is even when you are no longer here.

18:52.782 --> 18:54.347
[SPEAKER_01]: and that makes a bit different.

18:54.788 --> 19:02.313
[SPEAKER_01]: And then question six, how does legacy building impact your family, your clients, your community, and your daily decisions?

19:03.175 --> 19:03.737
[SPEAKER_01]: And so,

19:03.920 --> 19:09.228
[SPEAKER_01]: Timerally, what it does, at least, really a ripple effect that listeners can relate to.

19:10.370 --> 19:26.856
[SPEAKER_01]: For example, you listen to this particular episode of Well for Academy Podcast, and you'll be able to take some gold nuggets, or you'll be able to take some content rich information from this episode and apply it to your life or to the systems that you have in place.

19:27.173 --> 19:52.017
[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you look at for my family, for my family, I've just looked at myself, it's just been the example being a role model been a mentor to many and within my family both my immediate family and my extended family and also to my peers to my friends and to my colleagues and just extend that to them as a part of my legacy.

19:52.638 --> 20:10.157
[SPEAKER_01]: And then what I look at, my clients is to help them become better self work with some really amazing Fortune 500 companies, some government agencies, such as Department of Energy, Department of...

20:10.525 --> 20:23.032
[SPEAKER_01]: And then not only that, but also with colleges and universities, so I've worked with quite a few of them in addition to federal government agencies as well.

20:23.213 --> 20:27.522
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I was trying to say earlier, but when I look at that.

20:27.502 --> 20:52.851
[SPEAKER_01]: For my community, it's just been a good citizen, and good to my neighbors, understand the importance of just being good to your neighbors, also making friendships wherever you go, and just being kind to people, and I think that makes a big difference because when we look at how do we change the world, it starts with one person at a time, it starts with you and it starts with me.

20:52.831 --> 21:22.348
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not based on just a few people who are what you might call calling the shots are providing policy for people because all policy is not good for people, but we know all politics starts local and so we work in the local community whether it's a mayor or is a county executive is the governor or who have ever had to be state senators and the state members of Congress

21:22.328 --> 21:23.333
[SPEAKER_01]: and so forth.

21:23.795 --> 21:29.622
[SPEAKER_01]: So there's part of that legacy and making the data daily decisions too.

21:30.023 --> 21:37.637
[SPEAKER_01]: really leave a legacy of positivity, and that all starts with the mindset and the outlook on life as well.

21:38.298 --> 21:40.081
[SPEAKER_01]: So that takes care of question six.

21:40.121 --> 21:45.932
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I repeat every question so that you can hear it again, and that you would take action on it.

21:47.835 --> 21:53.145
[SPEAKER_01]: How does legacy building impact your family, your clients, your community, and your daily decisions?

21:53.429 --> 21:58.417
[SPEAKER_01]: And the data decisions, the better decisions we make, the better results we will have.

21:58.758 --> 22:14.104
[SPEAKER_01]: And for me, it's been a provider, providing a roof on the head of the members of my family, and just taking care of the important things in life, health care, food, everything such as that.

22:14.303 --> 22:25.021
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm going to go to question seven, and this is the next last question, but it reads this follow what gets in the way of people building a meaningful legacy and how can they overcome those barriers?

22:25.642 --> 22:27.705
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what happens is that life happens.

22:28.066 --> 22:30.810
[SPEAKER_01]: There things that occur in the world.

22:30.790 --> 22:58.198
[SPEAKER_01]: life events crises whether it's war or it's a event such as a hurricane or tornadoes or tsunamis all of those things factor in and then it could be the how the government is is managing and is it leading people positively or negatively all of those things are coming to be and what this question really does is that it's

22:58.178 --> 23:01.223
[SPEAKER_01]: this metal fear is excuses and self-doubt.

23:01.945 --> 23:16.491
[SPEAKER_01]: And one thing we know that we have 100% control of and is ourselves, that's the internal part of us and the external things that happen, we may not have a lot of control over there but we can't have some inputs and it's

23:16.471 --> 23:25.926
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what I say to everyone is don't fear anything because you're not responsible for everything happening in the world, you're responsible for what you do in the world.

23:26.547 --> 23:35.080
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're fortunate, you can help those members of your family and media family help them to make get to says, well, you make decisions collectively.

23:35.961 --> 23:44.875
[SPEAKER_01]: And so when we look at excuses,

23:45.277 --> 23:46.941
[SPEAKER_01]: there are no jobs out there.

23:48.044 --> 23:54.840
[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess research on it and it stated that there are seven million jobs that are available right now.

23:55.943 --> 24:02.880
[SPEAKER_01]: So a person who states that there are no jobs, they're stating this because they're not looking for one.

24:03.417 --> 24:23.080
[SPEAKER_01]: And if I can just go on the internet just for a couple of seconds and type in how many jobs are there and then what industries in a person who is looking for job can do the same thing it's just that they have to get their mind and alignment to what they're trying to achieve you go watch TV all day.

24:23.060 --> 24:30.175
[SPEAKER_01]: you can look at social media, they will tell you one story, but those stories may not be accurate.

24:30.195 --> 24:35.707
[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it pays to do some research, ask some questions, but most importantly, to follow up.

24:36.328 --> 24:38.773
[SPEAKER_01]: And then when it comes to self-doubt,

24:39.580 --> 24:42.903
[SPEAKER_01]: The opposite of self-doubt is self-belief.

24:42.923 --> 24:45.566
[SPEAKER_01]: So with that being a case, do you believe in yourself?

24:45.946 --> 24:48.669
[SPEAKER_01]: When you look in the mirror, do you really believe in yourself?

24:48.769 --> 24:49.730
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you confident?

24:50.331 --> 24:54.054
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have that strong self-awareness, that self-accountability?

24:54.935 --> 24:56.677
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have emotional intelligence?

24:57.578 --> 25:05.065
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have those aspects of your life that can move you belong beyond any hurdle in life or any quicksand in life?

25:05.045 --> 25:09.150
[SPEAKER_01]: And so you have to make a choice, is either you're going to choose to move forward.

25:09.350 --> 25:16.479
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you move forward, it means you have positive self-believe and positive self-awareness.

25:17.380 --> 25:21.425
[SPEAKER_01]: And the world will balance your realm unless you make a choice.

25:21.445 --> 25:22.606
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't sit on the fence.

25:23.227 --> 25:24.588
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to take action.

25:25.229 --> 25:27.131
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I'm encouraging you to do now.

25:27.171 --> 25:28.553
[SPEAKER_01]: So this ends question seven.

25:28.633 --> 25:30.175
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're getting down to the last question.

25:30.425 --> 25:34.614
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, question seven is, what gets in the way of people building a meaningful legacy?

25:35.216 --> 25:37.160
[SPEAKER_01]: And how can they overcome those barriers?

25:37.200 --> 25:47.202
[SPEAKER_01]: You overcome those barriers with action, asking questions, being curious, and you find out what you've passed it about.

25:48.143 --> 26:03.518
[SPEAKER_01]: do some research on someone who's doing what you want to do, you put your spend on it, you can be doing the same thing, whether you're an entrepreneur, are you an employee, but for me, again, I've been working since the age of 10, so I'm not going to let anything stop me.

26:03.558 --> 26:05.983
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care what it is, it's federal government.

26:06.217 --> 26:12.714
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a leaders of this country and another country because I know who sits on the throne every day, and it's not down.

26:13.797 --> 26:18.268
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what I want people to take from this question and our last question.

26:19.092 --> 26:27.159
[SPEAKER_01]: For leaders ready to start today, what's the first intentional step they can take to begin crafting a lasting legacy?

26:27.880 --> 26:40.291
[SPEAKER_01]: So what this question really poses for you and going level of defrosis is offers a practical first step so that you and I can feel empowered and not overwhelmed.

26:41.031 --> 26:47.277
[SPEAKER_01]: And part of this I mentioned in question seven, you have to know who you are.

26:48.050 --> 26:51.173
[SPEAKER_01]: you have to also know what you're passionate about.

26:51.613 --> 26:53.455
[SPEAKER_01]: So people ask, well, what are you passionate about?

26:54.255 --> 26:58.499
[SPEAKER_01]: And my response to that is, what do you enjoy doing every day?

26:58.699 --> 27:02.362
[SPEAKER_01]: And what you do, even if you want paid, we want to be paid.

27:02.743 --> 27:05.665
[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're passionate about some of you do it without pay.

27:06.486 --> 27:12.651
[SPEAKER_01]: And ultimately, you will receive a pay in abundance as long as you're doing what you're passionate about.

27:12.671 --> 27:17.415
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, the quote that I stated earlier,

27:17.395 --> 27:34.999
[SPEAKER_01]: is that one of the things that happens in life, if you pass something that you love, you never work another day in your life, and that's really a positioning that I want to have with you, and that you're not allowing yourself to be overwhelmed.

27:34.979 --> 27:40.727
[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of times people talk themselves out of success and we need to stop doing that.

27:40.747 --> 27:49.520
[SPEAKER_01]: We have to come in with the abundance, mentality of growth, mentality and you get away from the scarcity and limiting beliefs.

27:50.101 --> 27:58.894
[SPEAKER_01]: Your self-belief makes all the difference where other people see that a door is closed that you have more than one way.

27:58.874 --> 28:05.382
[SPEAKER_01]: of being able to open that door, go and make a difference, just using, you know, that as an example.

28:06.183 --> 28:17.076
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what I want to say at this time is that this is the a great time to be alive and people ask me, how could that be a great time to be alive?

28:17.136 --> 28:22.502
[SPEAKER_01]: And we have all of these things happen in politics and without our country.

28:22.955 --> 28:26.364
[SPEAKER_01]: When you really get down to it, you're not making those decisions.

28:26.385 --> 28:32.040
[SPEAKER_01]: So you know you would be making the right decision for yourself and your family and people in your community.

28:32.762 --> 28:34.467
[SPEAKER_01]: You just do the part.

28:34.683 --> 28:49.002
[SPEAKER_01]: that impacts you and that is you be the best person that you can be and no matter what external obstacle that's out there you continue to move forward and you continue making a difference and that's really what it's all about.

28:49.042 --> 28:57.954
[SPEAKER_01]: So the last question I repeat as I have all the other seven questions is for listeners ready to start today what's the first intentional step?

28:58.534 --> 29:02.800
[SPEAKER_01]: They can take to begin crafting a lasting legacy.

29:02.780 --> 29:10.505
[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that you enjoyed this particular episode, so in closing, legacy is not something you leave behind someday.

29:10.545 --> 29:15.962
[SPEAKER_01]: It's something you live every single day through your actions, your integrity.

29:16.111 --> 29:22.619
[SPEAKER_01]: your leadership and your purpose form the blueprint of the impact you leave on this world.

29:23.099 --> 29:27.544
[SPEAKER_01]: Now remember this, a paycheck phase, we know the bills coming in this God.

29:28.085 --> 29:30.388
[SPEAKER_01]: Titles fade, we don't need a title to live.

29:30.788 --> 29:35.514
[SPEAKER_01]: Positions fade, again, we don't need positions to be to succeed.

29:35.934 --> 29:45.105
[SPEAKER_01]: But the lives you touch the people you influence and the values you embody become your true legacy.

29:45.490 --> 29:48.215
[SPEAKER_01]: Not yesterday because we can't do anything about that.

29:48.535 --> 29:52.883
[SPEAKER_01]: Not tomorrow because we're not guaranteed tomorrow, but what we do today.

29:53.584 --> 30:01.457
[SPEAKER_01]: So start living it now and start becoming a version of yourself that generations ahead will be inspired by.

30:02.112 --> 30:21.319
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, here's my call to action is something that I provide all the time, and again, this is episode number three 26, if this episode inspired you to think differently about your future, your leadership and the legacy you want to create, share this episode with someone who needs encouragement today.
